We don’t get many of these unprofessional types.
A prospective client sent us his resume as a PDF and wanted a review.
He’s not getting short-listed for jobs.
We’re happy to provide a short assessment of the resume but we don’t provide a full and comprehensive review because they’re free and they’re not a client. We provide a snap shot.
If the prospective client agrees to the quote, we fix all of the issues, not just the few we mentioned.
I provided this guy, who was an executive in hotel management, a fairly good short summary and quoted him the amount to rewrite and update his resume.
Then he disappeared.
No email to say ‘thanks’. No email to say, ‘I’ll think about it’. Nothing.
He just wanted a free assessment.
One reason why he’s not getting jobs is because he lacks basic manners. That’s a major handicap in the hospitality industry.
He’ll go off and make those changes but it will do little good.
He had a raft of issues such as short-term employment, jobs left off his resume which were included on his LinkedIn site, a number of ATS scanning issues, grammar errors, formatting errors, etc.
I wish him luck.
