Shonky Adelaide recruiter asks for CV before sending PD

Every now and then I hear things on the grapevine, which confirms that recruiters are reprehensible, unethical A-holes, who, when the revolutions comes, should be stood up against the wall and shot.

There is allegedly a recruiter at Hudson in Adelaide who won’t send out the position description (PD) for a job at Renewal SA, until the applicants send their resume first.

I can hear the recruiter now, vetting resumes as they come in: ‘yeah’, ‘nah, ‘nah, ‘nah’, ‘yeah’, ‘nah’, ‘nah’.

Extraordinary stuff because Renewal Adelaide is a SA government agency.

That means the process should be open, transparent and accountable, unlike many jobs advertised by recruiters in Adelaide.

Apparently the job was meant to be advertised publicly last Monday week but the recruiter already had a couple of candidates, so he or she didn’t publish it. Why?

For the uninitiated, recruiters publish the PD so that candidates can tailor their resume and cover letters to that position.

This recruiter is asking candidates to apply ‘blind’.

Don’t get me started on recruiter age prejudice either. Check this out:

“The calculus of despair”: how recruiters condemn older workers to unemployment

If you wonder why people flee Adelaide, look no further than this sort of appalling, unprofessional behaviour.
