Last month I wrote a resume for Nicola (can’t use her real name for confidentiality), who works for a weapons communications outfit in Adelaide.

It’s the bane of every contract employees life. They have to reapply for their job and face internal and external competition.

She works in HR and has some good wins but the resume needed to be updated to include her most recent achievements

It also needed some quantification of results. They are measures which show numerical improvements.

I also reduced some of the older work in her resume and focused on projects she’d completed in the last seven years.

Not only did Nicola secure her job but she was promoted with a major pay increase.
