If the writer did a good job, leave a review

Client Google review fears

One of the weirdest parts of being a resume writer is a client’s fear, that a new prospective employer will find out they hired a writer to help write their employment documents.

They make all sorts of excuses for not leaving a Google review.

This is not edifying, especially if we’ve worked over a weekend to a tight deadline and created a first class product.

Employers and recruiters simply DON’T CARE just as long as the resume contains facts and the experience and credentials are what they’re looking for.

Some clients think resume writers create a brand new resume right off the top of their head.

How can a professional writer know anything about your career history, your key duties or successes?

That’s why writers work in partnership with you. That’s why we have to ask questions.

That’s why employers don’t care if you had help writing the resume.

I’ve written more than 5000 resumes over almost 20 years and not once has a client said they’ve missed out on a job because a prospective employer hunted their name down on the Republic Google site. Not once.

I work with two other professional writers, who have written more than 12,000 resumes between them.

Not once has any of their clients complained because a prospective employer hunted their name down on the Republic Google page or any other review site. Not once.

Employers are far more concerned if you cheated and got ChatGPT to write any of the resume or cover letter.

I don’t use AI to write employment documents and never will.

Resume writers are not engaged in an underhanded activity by helping people get a job.

We work with a client to create a professional document with achievements.

We actually work with employers when they have made staff redundant. We help them find new jobs.

Employers sometimes contact us and want to know if we have anyone with X or Y experience and skills.

Time to jettison the fear and timidity and get real.
