Chaos in job market can be good for job seekers

April was very quiet for Republic Resumes but May has been full-on with clients. I had to close the business a couple of times for a few days to catch up!

It sounds funny (or contraindicated) but turmoil in the job market is the perfect time for job seekers and job changers, to update their resumes and start applying for positions.

There is chaos in the employment market and while hundreds of thousands of people are returning back to work, many have unfortunately lost their jobs or had their hours cut.

But over the last six weeks or so, employers have had time to think about new strategic directions in the light of structural changes created by the Coronavirus.

‘Must act’ decisions are being made and that will affect staffing. New hires will be made.

The world feels uncertain at the moment and it’s easy to feel unmotivated. But this exactly the time when you should be door knocking and sending resumes out.
